Though the form of this planter is typical of a Roman cinerary urn, the style of the carving is Neo-Assyrian, depicting an Assyrian warrior (probably the King Tiglathpileser) and chariot with two horses. It most likely dates from the 19th century, inspired by the publication of Austen Henry Layard's texts on his excavations at Nineveh. It is carved out of one piece of stone, with a single drainage hole.
