Exceptional Swedish Grace Rosewood Commode
Circa 1930
Rosewood, burled walnut, marble, nickeled brass
28" high x 39 1/2" wide x 19" deep

A work of extraordinary craftsmanship which combines an angular, Minimalist design with opulent materials. The rosewood and burr walnut veneers with their almost Baroque surface contrast sharply with the geometric knobs and legs. The marble top is beautifully figured, of a subtle greenish-grey which rewards a closer look. Attributed to Ture Ryberg, the Swedish architect and designer.
